I have been putting my shop together and really needed to make something. So thanks to the knock off wood blog and simple yet cute ideas, I found a useful project I thought I could pull off in one weekend.
I was working on it between conference sessions, and it went really quickly. I was so proud of myself, the cove molding at the top I made myself it was an addition to the plan, but I thought it dressed it up a bit.
Now the long part!!!! Painting. I really do not like painting. I found a couple of small jars of mess up paint at Home Depot for $.50 each, so I painted in layers, so when I sanded it would look more antiqued.
Final project, ready to move in the house.
It was so cute as soon as I brought it in the boys claimed their territory, and Brycen took his basket and filled it with books, for his library.
My hope now is that the boys will actually use it and keep their backpacks picked up. They seem to be able to do it at school, i thought we could try it here. I serves as a dual purpose, and I am hoping will break up the entry way, so you can't stare into my mess!
