It is better to build boys, than to mend men.

Once there was a snowman

We built this snowman Tall, Tall, Tall, while we were waiting for the bus.  We have not had much snow this year, and we thought we were past it and ready to move on to spring.
Last word of advice to the snowman, whatever you do don't stay out here too long, you don't want to know what happened to the last guy.  He really was talking to him.  I am not sure what he said but he was talking to him.
This is the same day, around lunch time.  All the snow on the ground was gone and he is starting to lean.
The disintegrating snowman.
Small, small, small.

YEE HAAAW!

We inherited this horse and this guy has not been off of it all day.  It is claimed as his, and no one else is really allowed to ride it.  Thanks John & Amanda.  It is getting alot of use, it has even drawn blood.  The manes are just not as soft as the real thing.

Down and Derby

The "Thrifty Nickel"!
I made a car yesterday before the race, sad to say I did not spend quite as much time as the boys, but for the product it did pretty well.  Kaleb raced it against some of the old retired cars, or the adults that brought a car.  He one once and second another time.

Pre-race treats, for the non-scouters.
Pre-race.  We are ready to go.  At the last pack meeting we got a little box with a little piece of wood in it, and for the past month we have been watching "down and derby" looking at car models, drawing pictures, and doing our research.  The car has been done for almost 5 days, and the last dose of graphite was applied earlier this afternoon, only to then rest the car in the box, and no one was even allowed to spin the wheels.
The first race payed off.  We are on the far right.

We then proceeded and won the next three races, to our amazment.  It was a blast to watch.
After each age group raced they raced the first place from each den.  The Thrifty Nickel was the youngest.  This was our first race!
The first race of the final heat.  The Thrifty Nickel took first.
Second race, we tied for first place.  The third race we came in second.
We had a tie breaker for the overall first placement.  They raced down, and the Thrifty Nickel won by just a hair.  But after they hit the bottom, the guy in charge goes, "Oh, it wasn't on."  So we raced again.
The Thrifty Nickel took the prize.  Way to go!
We are still excited this morning.

Sick Day

Monday, he stayed home from school.  He was totally resistant to any naps of any sort, so I gave him some homework to do and the next thing I know, he was sacked out on the couch.
Later on, he fell asleep again, after fighting it all during naptime.  After dinner little brother was taking great care of him.

Brycen Biffs it

We were running errands, and while Daddy was shopping, we were out side visiting with a friend.  There happened to be a big puddle near by and after the first walk through it, Brycen was wet up to his ankles.  At that point, why stop now, so after several runs through it laughing and splashing away (wish I had my camera then) it was fine, besides the wet pants, shoes, and socks.  Well he kept going, running back and forth and all around.  Until the bump in the pavement caught his foot and he face planted skidding his forehead, cheek, and nose.  He actually looks pretty good in this picture, but is now scabbing over.  And he is still smiling!

Cricket

Just in case life doesn't bring in enough rodents on it's own, we need to cage one to call our own.  This is cricket, the boys pet.  The boys love holding her, or malling her what ever you want to call it.  She is a chinchilla, they come from the andes mountains, or your local pet store.  Which ever is closer or more convenient.

Brycen

Brycen all ready for church, being a goofball when I went to take his picture.  But isn't he cute.
What stared to be fun, just playing with the squirt bottle turned into a wet game with Dad!
It was so much fun they kept offering to refill the bottle.
