Today i was working out in the garden and Kaleb and Brycen wanted to come out with me. I think their intentions were good, and the fresh air was welcomed after all the rain. The rain also provided a great distraction for little boys with the left over puddles. I couldn't help but stop working and just sit on the edge of the garden bed and listened to the joyful squeals of little boys in rubber boots and a very muddy garden. It all started out so innocent and then escaladed from there. It ended with pretending to faint in the mud. I thought many times about telling them to stop, but then I remembered back to multiple times of myself playing in the mud and feeling it squish between my toes, and thinking how fun it was.
The only regret was not getting a picture of the two of them covered from head to toe. The fun didn't even stop there, I had to hose them off before headed in the house and then they kept the enthusiasm up as they then became clean again.
After they got out of the tub, Brycen was so cute he just kept giggling and wanting to be Kaleb's best little buddy. He would ask Kaleb, "Do you want to be my best pal, until we get old and die". That boy comes up with some of the funniest lines.
Who ever guessed playing in the mud would bring so much joy!
